"Charlotte is a gem. She offers capable and competent body-oriented wisdom from her extensive background in dance, yoga, Chinese Medicine and more. From her courses and workshops I've noticed a shift in many facets of my life: my postpartum back pain has improved, my concentration is retuning and I'm generally less overwhelmed as a new parent. Most of all, I'm inspired by Charlotte's commitment to show up in an authentic and transparent way."

Meditation
I created Mommy Grooves for those that feel like they don't have the time or patience to develop a meditation practice. Mindfulness can be incorporated into our every day life in small but effective ways. I offer a variety of practices from many traditions to inspire a meditation practice - traditional Buddhist meditation, Kundalini mantra meditation, Qi gong energy practices and somatic visualization.
Community
Join a growing community of mothers here to support one another through the ups and downs of motherhood. Here you will find no judgement or advice, simply powerful tools that help you align to your own inner wisdom.
Hi, I’m Charlotte
I believe that transitions in life hold great opportunities. The challenges contained within Motherhood are also opportunities for our awakening and empowerment.
My Story
In January of 2013 I was sitting in a hospice beside my mother who was dying of ALS. The disease had taken a hold three years earlier and our lives as a family had profoundly changed.
I was remembering a moment when I was hugging my mother sometime during her illness when I felt like I was hugging her, protecting her and nurturing her, as a mother would do. Though I will forever remain her child, in that moment I felt the transition within me of moving from my maiden phase into one of motherhood. I knew that this experience, of caring so deeply for another and letting them go, was helping shape the way I would mother my own child and the offerings I would be able to share with others.
The experience of profound loss in my early 20’s was a rite of passage. It showed me that big transitions in life hold opportunities. The challenges contained within them can forge new paths for our awakening and empowerment if we are given the right tools and support.
It showed me that my dedication to following my passion had relevance to the lives of others. My studies in yoga had profound benefit for myself and my mother during that time. The meditative practice of staying with what is, even and especially when uncomfortable, helped me show up.
Motherhood provides ample opportunities to practice the sacred art of staying present.
Fast-forward to March 2020, when my partner and I had our son during the Covid-19 crisis and, like so many families, found ourselves without the support, community and celebration we had hoped for. Again, I leaned on my movement and meditation practice for support. I also reached out to other moms. I knew that I wasn’t going through this alone.
From as early as I can remember I have been exploring the body in motion and inquiring deeply into the mind and soul. I made a commitment early on in my life to follow that passion. It meant I left a University degree in psychology to pursue one in contemporary dance. It meant traveling to India alone in pursuit of spiritual teachings, leaving the 9-5 grind of city life to move to a rural island where I am surrounded by others who are also following the road-less-travelled.
Mommy Grooves is evolving, just like me. But I hope the wisdom and practices you find here are of service to you on your journey, Mama.
I look forward to connecting soon.
With Love,
Charlotte
